Dee Breger, Director of Microscopy, was noted in an article in the New York Times Science section on Tuesday, November 14th, about the possible impact of a comet or asteroid nearly 5,000 years ago, which may have caused a "mega-tsunami." Also, Breger was featured in a Chicago Tribune article from November 1st. Some of her work is on display at an ongoing exhibition at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

Drexel received two Nano50 awards at the National Nano Engineering Conference in Boston, MA, November 9-10. Dr. Gleb Yushin, research assistant professor, accepted a Technology Award on behalf of the carbide-derived carbon (CDC) development team. Dr. Yury Gogotsi received an Innovator Award.
