Materials Science and Engineering At Drexel
Drexel University is home to a world-class faculty engaged in cutting-edge research in the
synthesis, development, and application of advanced materials in an exciting urban
environment. Recognized as a world renowned leader in its field, the Department of Materials
Science and Engineering continues to receive high profile awards including a 2003 R&D 100
Award, three National Science Foundation Career Awards, one each of an NIH, ARO, and
Whitaker Young Investigator Award, a 2001 Collegiate Inventors Award, and it counts one
member of the National Academy of Engineering among its faculty. Many faculty members in
other departments of the College of Engineering at Drexel University are involved in
materials research as well.
